Editor’s Note – Do More Of What Makes You Happy

Genine00041

I have a saying that sits on my home office desk – it says ‘Do more of what makes you happy’.

Since selling my previous publishing company, having a baby and moving to Melbourne to pursue new opportunities I have used this as my daily mantra. Every day I do more things that make me happy and do less of what makes me unhappy. It’s a simple mantra but a powerful one when put into practice. It keeps me on target every day to live my best life, to enjoy each moment, to live a bit lighter and to feel and experience more.

And now I have something else in my life that makes me happy … Australian Content Magazine. I have worked in magazines now for just over 11 years. Some might say it’s in now my blood; I love immersing myself into magazines, flicking through glossy pages, collecting piles upon piles of them (stacked neatly and coloured coded – I am a Virgo after all) and I love the bubble of excitement and possibilities reading magazines gives me. Magazines make me happy and creating this one from virtual space has given me great pleasure.

We are all constantly surrounded by possibilities yet many of us are too busy being busy or too focused on the ‘doing’ rather than the experiencing.

And now, my mission is to create that same feeling with you when reading Australian Content Magazine. Every piece of editorial is designed to inspire you to be the best person you can be – without the pressure of being superwoman – and to ignite in you all the possibilities that are open to you in this world. You see, we are all constantly surrounded by possibilities yet many of us are too busy being busy or too focused on the ‘doing’ rather than the experiencing. And this issue we have created an expose on beautiful and practical wall art to surround yourself with in your workspace – I mean if we have to work, then we may as well be surrounded by things that delight us! Check out our feature here, and in particular take note of some of the gorgeous inspirational wall art on show. And that Dachshund pinboard is all mine!

Along with our giveaways, Things We Love and events, our editorial columns are all contributed by a team we call The Champagne Set. These are women who walk the talk and all live their very best lives by … doing more of what makes them happy. These change-makers have joined me on my mission to offer the very best in content for you. I am privileged to be surrounded (virtually) by these incredible women and know that you too will benefit from their wisdom, tips and guidance. They are the toast of their fields!

These are women who walk the talk and all live their very best lives by … doing more of what makes them happy.

If you are also a change-maker we would love you to join the team – we have a range of packages certain to increase your online profile plus we will be announcing the date of our annual Limited Edition print publication soon! Please chat to our sales manager (and published children’s author) Katie Mackenzie for more details.

And of course, it would be remiss of me not to talk about our first ever cover person, the delightful, sassy, beautiful, talented businesswoman, Jac Bowie. Jac is the epitome of a woman who has it all – though she has worked darn hard to get it! Being a single mother to two children and running a successful international networking franchise (Business in Heels), Jac knows firsthand the secrets to success. Read her inspiring story interviewed and written by Australian Content Magazine feature writer, Sarah O’Bryan. We have pushed the boundaries a little with our sassy cover photography by Brent Leideritz from 24b but that’s Jac – bold and with a distinctive personal brand – plus she is to-die-for gorgeous!

Lastly, to reward you for reading our magazine we have a plethora a prizes to giveaway this month! From cookbooks to positive birthing pack to designer luggage, this month we have $2000 worth of prizes up for grabs.

And remember, do more of what makes you happy.

So, thank you for taking the time out to read Australian Content Magazine – we ask you to share us with your friends, your sister – even your mum, there is something for every woman who wants to have it all. And remember, do more of what makes you happy.

Be content.

  • Well said! It’s true, the more meaningful your life is – that is following your passion and doing the things you love; being surrounded by inspiring, positive and like-minded people; and investing in yourself – the happier you and your life will be. I 100 per cent believe in your mantra too.
